The Kometos Thawing Room is a high-performance solution for the rapid, hygienic and controlled thawing of frozen meat, fish, shellfish, poultry, dairy and vegetable products. Suitable for products in blocks, bags, boxes, crates, on racks or trolleys, it delivers consistent thawing results with precise control of temperature, humidity and airflow. The room uses a PLC-controlled thawing process, with sensors continuously monitoring product surface temperature, core temperature, chamber temperature and humidity. This allows the thawing cycle to be automatically adjusted to achieve the target product temperature while maintaining product quality and food safety. By carefully controlling the thawing environment, the Kometos system minimises drip loss and weight loss, helping processors maximise yield while preserving texture, appearance and shelf life. With thawing capacities ranging from 3 to 48-plus pallets, the systems suit food factories and processors of all sizes. Integrated cooling equipment allows the room to be used as chilled storage once the target temperature has been reached, providing additional flexibility in production scheduling and helping to prevent over-thawing. Scheduled thawing programmes can also be used to ensure product is ready exactly when required for further processing.
